Little Sewers: Handmade Booklets
In this hands-on workshop, kids will learn how to create their very own mini booklet—complete with stitched pages and a decorated cover that’s all their own! Using colorful thread, simple hand-sewing techniques, and a mix of fun materials, we’ll turn everyday scraps into something special.
We’ll also take a moment to explore the art of making by hand and how crafts like bookbinding and stitching connect people across the world and through time.
No experience needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a love for making things! Each child will leave with a one-of-a-kind booklet ready to fill with drawings, notes, or stories.
Suggested age: 7+. Parents, please feel free to hang out on the patio while the workshop is in session.

| Instructor Bio: | Gabriela Ponce Curlango is a Mexican-American artist exploring perspective, vulnerability, and play. After spending nearly a decade working within the video game industry, she has turned her full attention to studying visual arts both formally and informally. Now, as a full-time artist she is forming collaborative relationships with San Diego and internationally-based artists and has explored every artistic medium she can get her hands on.
