FABRIC - “VACATION” by SANAE SUGIMOTO
Sanae Sugimoto is a KOKKA collaborating artist. Her pen-and-ink illustrations are overflowing with charm and whimsy and have been beautifully recreated on a cotton-linen blend sheeting. This print is called "Vacation" and features boats, comets, horses, and floating travellers. It had a delightful floral design on both selvedge edges.
Sanae Sugimoto was born in Tottori Prefecture, Japan in 1975. After studying oil painting in Kyoto, Sugimoto relocated to Fukuoka in southern Japan, where she is still based now. Her works are inspired by classical works of English literature and are defined by her use of traditional Japanese ink, known as "sumi."
